This pen is the successor to the color band red ripple pens. These #5 (and #7) pens used the same keyhole color designated
nibs as their predecessors. Rather than indicate the nib "color" by a cap band as in the case of the red
ripple models, the color was denoted by an appropriately colored dot with an inscribed "5" (or "7") at the end of the
    barrel.
This one is in excellent condition with virtually no marks, cracks or chips. The barrel imprint is very crisp.
In Waterman's color designation for their nibs a red is "standard configuration for correspondence".

    Waterman #5 Black - Red nib (5") $175
This pen is the successor to the color band red ripple pens. These #5 pens used the same keyhole color designated
nibs as their predecessors. Rather than designate the nib "color" by a cap band as in the case of the red

This one is in excellent condition with virtually no marks, cracks or chips. The barrel imprint is very crisp.
In Waterman's color designation for their nibs a red is "standard configuration for correspondence".
This red nib is somewhat more flexible than the red nib, red ripple above.
